Stay safeDear All, following the Government’s announcement last night we thought we would update you on exactly where we are.
The display and sales area in our unit is now closed to the public but our online orders are still unaffected. We will however be batching orders for despatch and trying to limit our movements by only going to the post office 2 or 3 times per week.
We are a husband and wife team working in relative isolation from a small industrial unit not far from our home and we have a robust hygiene regime, regular hand washing and cleaning of surfaces and carefully packaging orders. We also use Royal Mail Click & Drop whereby all parcels are taken and dropped at the post office in sealed bags with little or no human interaction.
After carefully looking at current government guidelines and the fact that online retail is being encouraged we are satisfied that we are operating safely and not breaking lock down instructions. A large part of our recent orders have been gifts sent out to people from family and friends who are thinking about them in these challenging times and sending some well needed cheer and we are happy to be a part of this for as long as we can safely do so.
The online side of our business is now fundamental to us staying afloat given that all current yarn shows have been cancelled and they would normally account for a large part of our income and we would really like to let you know how much we both appreciate every single order that we get.
We will of course be closely following the current situation and any further instructions from the government.

Dear friends

You’re probably expecting this email given the wave of other event cancellations in the last couple of weeks, but after a lot of discussion we have decided to cancel Buxton Wool Gathering 2020. This is the best decision for everyone involved to assist in the containment of the virus.

For those who have already booked tickets, we have already processed refunds via Paypal and they should be back in your accounts shortly.

We understand and share your disappointment and look forward to running Buxton Wool Gathering again in 2021. In the meantime, please take care of yourselves.
